While Donna would not mind if we would be back in the 90’s, she appeared in recent chart-topping music videos by Enrique Iglesias (Tired of Being Sorry), Justin Timberlake (Señorita) and Sugar Ray (It’s so Easy), as well as the lead in Dwight Yoakam’s Blame the Vain.
Furthermore, Donna appeared as a recurring panelist on the Fox News show "Redeye" as well as co-host on the TV Guide show "The Fashion Team".
Having said this, the gentle brunette concedes that she is not the typical model and this is something we can confirm: Donna is our special model of the month.
Did
you always wanted to be a model, or did you stumble upon it, get discovered etc.? Who or what inspired you to become a model? How did you get started in the modeling business?
I have always been interested in fashion, makeup, and dressing up since I was a little girl. I was approached in high school but my parents didn't think it was good idea so at 19 while studying fashion marketing/merchandising at FIDM I thought a good way to network with designers was to become a fit model for various brands. That lead to companies and agents wanting to me to model in the print and runway world as well; which then lead to national tv commercials, acting in tv shows movies, tv hosting projects, worldwide covers, campaigns, etc..
Every year became busier than the last and it has been a fulltime career for many years now.

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
My favorite part of this business is not knowing what tomorrow will bring.
It's always something new and exciting and usually that excitement comes from being fortunate enough to get bookings all over the world. I have gotten jobs in Thailand, Mozambique, Mallorca, Munich, Tokyo, South of France, and the list goes on and on. It's incredible to learn new languages, taste new foods, and meet interesting people from all over the globe.

How would you describe yourself as model in three words?
Hardworking, Feminine, Determined
Who is your favorite photographer? Why?
One of my favorites that I would love to work with is Vincent Peters. He takes timeless photos of classic, beautiful, and sexy women. I love his black and whites especially.
I think he captures true sensuality in women and anytime I see a cover or campaign lately that really catches my eye and reminds me of old hollywood glamour it's almost always Vincent Peters that has shot it.

hat was the hardest photo shoot for you, and why?
One of the hardest shoots was when I did an advertisement that was meant to look like I'm in the "Garden of Eden." They brought a huge snake that they wanted to place gently over my breasts to cover them and I was supposed to hold the snake. I thought I would be okay but once they placed him on me I was so scared I wanted to scream.
I tried my best to stay calm and professional but I had to let them know that unfortunately I was not going to be able to handle it so they ended up shooting the snake separately and placed him on me in post production.

Did anyone in the industry ask you to change your look, name, etc. If so, what did you do?
I was asked by an old agent to change my last name. He thought something more Italian or exotic would fit my look. I told him that I would much rather stay true to myself and so far, that has been one of my best decisions I've made.
What tips and advice do you have for aspiring models just starting out, something you wish someone would have told you?
The best advice besides learning the importance of networking/staying in touch with photographers is to not take things too personally.
If you don't book the job it doesn't mean you are ugly , fat, or whatever negative thought crosses your mind. All it means is that you're not the look they want for that season or that particular product. There is a market for every look .
Learn what your look is, who your market is, and chase it down with a smile! =)

Who is your favorite all-time model?
Cindy Crawford
Best Jean?
Rock n Republic and J Brand. I love them since they are long and flattering.
What things in your wardrobe would you never throw away?
Little black dress, jeans and simple tank top, and a pair of patent leather stilletos
What era would you like to bring back?
Early 90's where they appreciated curves and all natural models. The time when someone like Laetitia Casta was in Victoria's Secret!
What makes you feel sexy?
On a shoot? Great music, great makeup/lighting, and an awesome wind machine of course
Favorite kind of food:
Italian
When models say they eat healthy, what do they mean by that?
Whole grains, lots of water, fruits, veggies, lean protein, nuts, green tea, etc..
How would you describe yourself as a human being in three words?
Loyal, Honest, Sincere
What's controversial or unique about you?
I am not the typical model in any way. I am curvier than many of the fashion models I work with, I am educated, friendly, opinionated, and very business minded which seems to be a rare combination in the fashion business.
If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?
Flying
